The Department of Conservation recently introduced new Mission and Vision statements to help guide its efforts on behalf of California's citizens, economy, and environment:

Our Mission: The Department of Conservation balances today's needs with tomorrow's challenges and fosters intelligent, sustainable, and efficient use of California's energy, land, and mineral resources.

Our Vision: A safe, sustainable environment for all Californians.

Information on how our Mission and Vision intersect with the strategic goals and outcomes of DOC programs can be found in the About Us pages.
