Official Earthquake Fault Zones affecting the City of Malibu Beach, Los Angeles County, August 16, 2007

The GIS data for this map, as well as a graphic file of the complete map (PDF), are now available for download. The GIS formats available are MapInfo tab files, ArcInfo .e00 and ESRI Shape export files, and dxf export files. To view or use this data, the user must have a GIS software program such as ArcInfo, ArcView, MapInfo, Geomedia, or Intergraph installed on their computer. The GIS data include lines, points, and polygons. Metadata is available for the GIS file.

Earthquake Fault Zone GIS data consist of individual layers representing the components of the map: corner registration tics, EFZ boundary polygons, and several line files, representing different types of fault information. Each of the different components is numbered. The metadata for the GIS files explains the numbering system; it is strongly suggested that the user read the metadata file before using the data.
