Field Lease and Facility Maintenance
Awards for 2006
In 2007, the California Department of
Conservation is presenting 34
Outstanding Field Lease and Facility
Maintenance Awards to oil, gas, and
geothermal operators in the state. The
awards recognize lease maintenance
efforts that enhance safety and
environmental protection above and
beyond what is required. The winners are
listed, along with the field and lease
names, and number of consecutive years
they have received their awards. To see

2006 Preliminary Annual Report
Released

The 2006 Preliminary
Annual Report of California oil and gas
production statistics has been released
and is available to view and download
here (PDF, 800 KB). California's
overall oil production rate decreased in
2006, averaging about 683.9 thousand
barrels per day, a decrease of 2.4
percent from 2005. Natural gas
production increased in 2006, averaging
about 892 million cubic feet per day, an
increase of about 1 percent from the
2005 figure.

Calendar Now Available

The 2007 DOGGR
calendar with a superhero theme has been
created by the Division and is available
to the public for free. The DOGGR
superheroes, Rig Commander, Tank,
Petrolia, Wildcat, and Magma, are
hand-drawn in vibrant colors. On the
reverse is Division office information,
as well as a map outlining the oil, gas,
and geothermal districts of California.
This calendar is one component of the
Divisions outreach program. Copies are
available at DOGGR headquarters or any
division office.

2005 Annual Report
Released
(Posted September 14, 2006)
The 2005 Annual
Report of California oil and gas
production is posted on the Internet.
Oil production decreased slightly in
2005, averaging about 700,800 barrels
per day, a decrease of about 4.1 percent
from the 2004 average of about 730,700
barrels per day. Natural gas production
increased slightly in 2005, averaging
about 885 million cubic feet per day, an
increase of about 1.1 percent from the
2004 average of 894 million cubic feet
per day.
