Glass Cleaning Process Application Questions

The Glass Cleaning Process application applies to processors (PR) purchasing commingled glass from certified dropoff (DP) or collection (CP) programs including a “waste reduction facility”, or certified community service programs (SP), or registered curbside programs (CS).

Also, the purchased glass has residual or other contamination levels greater than >10% by weight and are eligible for refund value.

Processors are eligible to receive program payments on this material, if the glass can be cleaned to 10% or less contamination by weight and they have an approved Glass Cleaning Process. The

Glass Cleaning Process application is how a processor requests and receives approval for an alternative method of preparing shipping reports (DR6) for payment, in this situation.

Section A, is for all certified processors receiving loads of glass with greater than >10% contamination from CS, SP, or CP programs. If the applicant (processor) does not clean the glass to 10% or less contamination by weight and delivers the glass to a third party (another certified processor or non-certified entity) for cleaning, it is required that the third party has an approved Glass Cleaning Process application on file with the division.
